I had some technical problems with the Part 1, and had to restart. Also, the Part 1 video freezes, but the audio is good. I am so sorry for the problems but hope you get something out of the videos. Thank you for your patience.

Hello, Katrina. Thank you for your excellent videos. I have watched the one on reducing a gaping neckline on the pattern. What I need to know is how to do the same to the facing. Maybe I should just redraw the facing using the main pattern piece. What is the best approach? I am new to these types of alterations.
Many thanks,
Mary
Katrina says
You should definitely use your altered pattern piece to recreate a new facing. That’s the easiest way to do it.

I really like your videos I have a hearing problem and your voice comes in nice and clear. The 1st one I saw was balancing a pants pattern…. Love it…. I have been sewing since high school and I am now75, and I never knew that. It shows you’re never too old to learn something new. Thank you so much and keep on sewing!

I’m so glad my voice is clear for you, Veronica. Thank you for your support.

I have two magnets from Joanne fabrics not big like 2/1”. When sewing i have it right on my sewing machine and as i sew i pull the pins and fling it at the magnet. They are very strong and suck the pins to the magnet. Pin cushions are a thing of the past. Although i do still use mine for hand sewing needles after pulled from pkg.
Eileen Borkowski says
Be careful if you have a fancy touch screen machine. No magnets should be around it.

I’m making a classic pencil skirt with woven fabric non stretch for a suit. Can you please tell me the right steps for putting the zipper before putting the lining I have watched the videos for putting the lining and it is such a great help for me. Thanks for sharing all these precious resources.
Katrina says
Mary, what kind of zipper are you putting in? Is it an invisible, lapped or centered zipper? In my video here, http://bit.ly/1h9RYQq, I use an invisible zipper.

Hi Brenda:
The box for the pins is okay, but a better option is available from Harbor Freight, a magnetic dish designed for screws or nails. They come in 4 inch and 6 inch size. Being magnetic you can just throw pins in and they “stick”. I have several, one at each sewing machine and one at the ironing board. They are very inexpensive and sometimes free with another purchase. An absolute MUST have.
I also use a snap knife, available for 49 cents at Harbor Freight. This replaces a single edge razor blade, is safe, and always stays sharp, (when dull, you just snap off the dull part and a sharp new part appears).

I have 2 of evrything but the clips. Where can I buy them? Also I liked your video!
Katrina says
I’m glad you liked the video, Brenda. I got my Wonder Clips from Amazon, here: http://amzn.to/2pf5tpo. These are Clover brand but they have other brands. I’m not sure of the quality. The reviews may help you determine that.
